States
States: Portrait Series States is a series of visual studies where the focus is deliberately shifted from precise portrait likeness to capturing elusive emotions and deep internal states.
In these works, the human figure is not viewed as a static recording of facial features, but as a living process. The portraits are fluid and changeable: some appear only as fragments, while in others, the human silhouette gradually dissolves into the canvas space.
An important part of the series' visual language is its interaction with nature. Flowers are not present in every piece—they appear at key moments, creating a subtle dialogue between the person and the surrounding world. Through this connection, the artist emphasizes the similarity between human experiences and natural cycles: fragility, moments of blossoming, fading, and inner silence.
States invites the viewer to look beyond the conventional boundaries of a portrait and connect with pure emotion, where the inner self and the natural elements become one.
